Default Question on new fan clutch.

I installed my new fan clutch today. Is the fan set up as a pulling or blowing fan? I can feel the fan blowing the air towards the engine/ cab. So its pulling air thru the radiator. And at idle that thing is moving some air... guess that's normal. I thought at idle / not warmed up these are supposed to not push much air..

Okay cool. Before, the old clutch didnt push this much air. I was like hmm. Next is the lebaron vents: have here. When the engine gets up to temp it starts to push more air, right?

right, and putting in vents in hood allows water to cover electric components under hood causing possible other issues ...just saying...

Did you use the Napa 272310 fan clutch? It moves ALOT of air.

I think so. It's the one that pulls bunches of air and is a little loud.

No it was an imperial replacement for stock. And as far as the hold vents causing issues. I don't buy into that much.

That Napa 272310 pulls some air, about 20% more than stock.

The fan clutch will pull air when it is cold too, it's just a thick viscous fluid inside and a thermo spring on the outside that makes the whole thing work. You'll drop a mile or two of gas mileage now that you have a working fan clutch. Pisser.

I'd return the fan clutch you got and get the 272310 instead, before doing any hood vents.

Is that clutch any better than the HD clutch from auto zone? Cuz thats what I have now and I'm not seeing much improvement over stock. I cut in some hood vents today and it helped some though the slots are minimal so I'm going to open them up with my dremel.

I don't know for sure. Is your new fan clutch loud? If not, it's not as good.
