Question before changing out starter
96 Jeep Cherokee County has been hard to start lately. Cleaned battery connections and solved the prob for about a week, but today can't start. Can't be jumped off either. exterior/interior lights work, radio works. Battery checked OK with 94% charge.
Odd thing though is that the dashboard battery volt indicator shows less than 10V, but checked at autozone showed 12.4V.
Going to change the starter out tomorrow, but the difference battery voltage indications are troubliing. Any experiences with this?

I just went through the same exact thing, cleaned my battery terminals and it was fine for about a week then it started turning over slowly again and finally quit working completely. Battery was fine and it was charging, replaced the starter - problem solved

Even if you do end up needing a new starter, refreshing your grounds is still a good idea.
