Default Question about oil pressure sending unit connector

I have a 94 Cherokee 4.0, and I need to replace my oil pressure sending unit with a new one. The connector and "wire" for the one I have now is a single cap that goes on top of the sending unit (like a vacuum line) but the replacements I find all have the mushroom shaped connector with the tab in front (common electrical connector)

(Looks like this:

Just curious if anyone besides the dealership sells the one that I need.

Here's the one that's in my Jeep:

Rockauto has it, but says it's the pressure switch for the European model. Any ideas?

Anyone else run into this problem?

All the ones I've seen have taken a standard 1/4" spade-style quick-connect terminal. No reason why it should be changed.

However, if the internal pressure/resistance curve of the sensor you've got is the same, just take it to the hardware store and find a nut that fits that thread. Reterminate the OEM lead with a ring lug of the proper size - or, better, make a short jumper (just a couple of inches long) with a 1/4" male spade QD on one end and the correct ring on the other (so you can switch back, if and when.)

That's how I'd handle it.

Spring for the dealership unit. It is an extra $20-$25, but worth it. Aftermarket oil pressure sending units (not all of them) have a nasty habit of failing prematurely.
