Question??
I bought a 96xj a few months ago and on the dash near the steering colomn there is a switch that is labeled "extended idle". Does anyone know what the purpose of this is I have pressed it it lights up but no idea what it does?

I think you are right, I did some more checking and found that the switch is used for extreme power needs while ideling, also was looking over it and in a few spots they missed with the black paint it looks like state of michigan blue underneath. I think my cherokee was a cop suv at one point! Thats pretty cool! I want to pull a carfax and see who the previous owners were.
