Default PVC Valves

ok im replacing mines bc they are taking oil out.. so the question is, do I really need to take off the valve cover to replace them?

also how do I know witch one goes in the front and witch in the back.. one is black the other gray.. and the gray one, has som ruber stuff in the bottom part that goes in the valve cover..
one has better airflow than then other..

you don't a pcv valve. the one at the front of the valvecover is a tube

the one at the rear is a fixed orifice, which basically replaces the need for a pcv on our xj's.

you should be able to clean it out with some brakleen and a paperclip

Blow it out with a little air to clear out the rear one's orifice and that one should be good to go. The front one is just a breather IIRC.

Im finally done today with all the work,, took out the valve cover,, clean it, replaced the bad thingys.. and change the oil, and also finally did the diffs oils.. the old oil stink badd..

also took some pics of me flexing it.. Ill post up later on my build thread..

gear oil always seems to stink bad when its good..
