Hard to describe but you know what I'm talking about...

Let us know how it works out and if you're happy with it, noise-wise, cooling wise, etc... I may have to do the same thing you did to get one of these HD clutch's on my '01.
Stock radiator. There seems to be enough 'slop' in the support holes to cause this slight clearance issue. I do think that my jeep was hit in the passenge front and that could have moves things the 1/8-1/4".

272310 is the Napa version IIRC.

The 2737 is the Hayden version. Both from a ZJ.
I'm not sure but I think there is a ZJ clutch fan for the 4.0 that runs at 60% of engine speed the 40% the XJ clutch fan does. That's the 272310. And then there's a HD ZJ fan. Could that be the fit issue? That the HD ZJ fan is what people are trying to cram in there?

I know that!! I've done that swap. I think some people are trying to put a HD fan clutch for a ZJ on an XJ instead of the standard ZJ unit and that's why it ain't fitting.

The Hayden 2747 is a HD clutch fan as shown above and it fits

This is the one I installed "HD clutch fan" w/out issue
