push rod trouble
#3
Yes, I've had the same issue. I replace the rods and the hydrolic lifters (they die when the oil isn't changed often enough).
I would try changing all push rods and changing your oil + filter twice (10w40) within 2 weeks to see if you can clean them out..
If this doesn't work, take the heads off and replace the lifters (may as well put in the redesigned push rod retaining clips while you are at it).
You can get all bits needed from VMSpecialists. Give him a call and he'll get the bits together :
Metal Intake + exhaust manifold gasket,
Metal 4-head gasket,
Head bolts,
Water Manifold gaskets,
8 x push rods,
4 x push rod clips (new design),
8 x hydrolic lifters.
Not difficult, just time consuming.
Don't leave it too long to do though, if one of those push rods pops out then falls into the sump, which it could v.easily do as you'll see, you'll be in much bigger trouble.
