Puke-it tranny
Ok as stated before my 89' 4.0 4x4 with the Peugeot manual tranny is stuck in 1st. Gear. I've tried to pop the clutch numerous time and it won't pop out. After thinking it was a broken pin or bottom tip of shifter being broken. I tore into it ( from the top, inside the cab ) and found neither of then are broken. So does anyone have a idea as to my next step is??? Maybe a shifting fork? I've done all the googling I can, and found very little info. So might as well ask the masters here
I need to fix and sell this thin ASAP
Thanks for all the help

Well that SUX. I feel I've been being brave and successful at the " wrenching " I've been doing, but that's asking' a bit much right now. My mechanic buddy hates tranny's umm probably be easier and cheaper to do JY swap--wouldnt it

Ok I went out there and did some further inspection of the parts. As I was only thinking bottom of shifter or pin. I saw that a the grove on the ball of the shifter Handel. Had some damage to it. A strike mark from the pin and a couple simi-circle deformities at the outer edge of the grove. Could this be a evident sing that the shifter Handle assembly is to blame?
Next I just so happen to have a extra shifter Handle I tried to put it in to see if it fixed it, but how in the heck do you put that thing back in the tranny? I figure there must be some sort of trick. To this.

You have to realign the shifting gates with a screw driver from the top make sure jeeps on level ground so the weight of its not resting on the gears in tranny. Or parking break on with clutch depressed .This is not the end of the world its a common issue with any top load tranny when there old.

Ok if say I didn't line things up correctly would that make it stay stuck in 1st. . Thanks for that thread. I pushed in the clutch and push it forward and it drop right in.
I don't see what I'm supposed to line up in there tho. Any pic's that I can see what I'm suported to be looking for?

Those arm shift back and forth don't be afraid to yank them around a little use a good size screw driver the click back and forth for gear selection .
