Default Proper seafoam use

Ok well, yes i know there are tons of threads on the stuff. but i just want a simple anwser. I just picked up the can of the stuff. i've never used it before. should i add some to the oil, vaccume line, and gas? or just one of them? i am going to be changing the oil this weekend. so if i put some in it would be in there for that long. also how much should i add to each. and what is a good vaccume line to use? i have exactly a half tank of gas. also how do i properly go about running the engine, do i add it to the oil, and vaccume line, then turn off the engine. add it to the gas wait 5 mins, then run it again till smoke is gone?

Just start with gas tank, half the can for a full tank.

Crankcase, thats not too smart, but if your going to, use new oil with the seafoam.

Some people claim it can cause loss of compression in older motors. One way would be if the rings are semi-sealed with carbon or varnished oil and it cleans it out. I don't know if that is true or not.

I usually add it to the intake manifold on the Jeep. The fuel injectors are crap anyway so I don't add it to the fuel.

Hmmm, I think I might have used the one that comes off the brake booster. Any line you can get that has good vacuum on it will be good. The sucking will pretty much keep you from spilling any. If you stick the hose right in the can it will probably stall the truck out (which is OK) but otherwise you can kind of pour it into the hose.

If it does stall (which some people recommend) turn the key off and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. Then go start it and continue. This will give the Seafoam some time to soak into the carbon in the engine.

FYI: I once got pulled over after Seafoaming because the trooper said "anything that smokes for more than ____ seconds can't be on the road." I think he was just being an a-hole but try to stay on the back roads if you can!
