Problem turning over; Cherokee Sport 99
What up everybody. Weird issue, will be driving with no problems, check engine light will come on, turn off car, try to turn it back on and the engine will not turn over. I'll wait about an hour and it will start up and the issue will go away for a while. I have been told it may be fluids? I've also read it could be the crank censor? Any opinions / has this ever happened to you?

Updated my CP. Turned it on tonight and check engine light disappeared and started up fine? Still think it may be the crank censor. Gonna replace it and see what happens from there.

If your engine is not turning over you need to look at things like your battery, connections, starter, and starter relay.
These are the things that make the engine rotate, also known as "turn over".
Turning over does NOT mean starting. It means the engine parts rotate like they are supposed to when you engage the starter.

The crank sensor has nothing to do with the engine turning over or not. Nothing. Yep. That's a #1 suspect for a no-start condition.
Can you verify if you have spark? A spark tester is really cheap, and tells you a lot. If you have good spark, your CPS is fine.

The computer won't let it spark if I doesn't get a signal from the CPS. Check for codes with a reader. When mine went it would randomly die or not start. I didn't pop a CEL but it did store the code for it. Replaced it and it haven't stalled in 4 months.

I had the same issue in my 99 cherokee sport. After replacing Crank pos sensor it Turned out to be the cam position sensor . Tricky thing here is on a 99 cherokee the cam sensor is called a pick up coil and it's located in the distributor right under the rotor. It's a Hall effect sensor. A generic code scanner will give the same code for both problems. Easy to fix, just remove the rotor and a couple of screws and unplug and replace it.

No start when warm? Check for fuel pressure, check for spark. You can't just ask everybody about similar symptoms, swap parts based on that, and get good results. You may get lucky, you usually won't.
Get a spark tester, also search for the test procedure for the CPS. It's around here somewhere.
