Default PRNDL Switch malfunction Circuit A

What in the world is happening...

I keep getting this code, as well as my 2001 keeps shifting into 3rd and 4th and back like crazily. It does it at any speed, and time, and any weather (even with cruise)

So were is the prndl switch on the AW4? I cannot see it?

This is a video of the tranny when it screws up. Just watch the tach. I had it in cruise on level ground on a clear road.

It looks like the torque converter is locking and un-locking. The switch that does this is the brake switch. Also the lockup solenoid could be bad but probably not. They normally fail completely.
Driving down the road at 50 MPH in OD hold right foot steady on the gas. Tap brakes with your left foot and the RMPs should rise 3-500 RPMs like your video. The brake switch may need to be adjusted or replaced.

The prndl is the shifter. The TCU is located directly above the gas pedal hidden by the plastic cover.
There are also ground wires and connections located by the trans dipstick tube. One connector for trans functions and one for the NSS-neutral safety switch.

What is the exact code you are getting?
If I had to guess, I'd say it's squawking about the NSS. That's the only part of the "PRNDL" assembly that gets checked.

TPS, NSS, Speed Sensor and brake light switch are all considered in the decision to lock up the converter.
