As I started to roll down the drivers window today, it stopped after going down about an inch. All other windows would not function as well. I thought ok, must be a blown fuse. All fuses and wires are good. So I grabbed a switch from the salvage yard and all functions now work besides driver door window. I'm leaning towards the window motor now. When the window abruptly stopped while going down, could a bad motor short out the switch if that makes sense?

Look at my previously linked reply. It shows how to disengage the jamb boot from the door, then move / fold it into the jamb, exposing the entirety of the jamb wiring.
Window power, provided through the ignition switch and the window fuse goes first to the master switch. If the master switch lock pushbutton does not disable the other doors, then power goes back out to the other doors, permitting those switches to also operate the window.
Look at the switch contact image. It shows each switch has two contacts, so rocking up raises and rocking down lowers, by routing DC battery power through the window motor in opposite directions.
Saving you some time, it is almost impossible for the window switches to be bad. The only weakness is the master switch lock pushbutton. If any of the other three doors has a working switch, then the lock pushbutton is fine.
Saving you some time, it is almost certain that the problem is failed door jamb wiring, like shown in the previously linked reply. Pull back the driver's jamb boot and pull back the jamb boot in each problem door.
Fix the broken wires that are discovered then report on the results.

What year is this? 2001? Has an issue with wiring breaking inside the boot of the door. Older styles could just be the individual switch for passenger side not sufficiently making contact.

You can check the motor's function by removing the door panel and jumping the 2 wires on the motor plug with 12v. Changing polarity changes direction. That way you can also see if the window is binding in the track. If that checks out, you can go from there. There is a circuit breaker built into the motor that may have fried.
A broken window is either 4 things.
-Window Motor Broken
-Broken Switch
-Broken Wires inside the door boot
-Window off track
To test the motor, run a wire from your + battery terminal to one of the prongs on the wire harness. Run a second wire from the second prong to a suitable ground. By switching the wires you can control the window either up or down.
To test the switch, is a bit more complicated. You will need to pull up the factory service manual. Somewhere in there is the continuity tests for the window switch. I recently had this issue and continuity tests told me the switch was bad. I re- soldered the circuit board and it fixed the problem.
To test the wires get an ohm meter and run a continuity test with your leads on each prong. If there is a broken wire you will get a reading of infinity meaning the circuit is incomplete. Take off the boot in between the door and visually inspect the wires. They tend to break in there all the time.
If you can hear the window motor running when you hit the switch, the window might have fallen off track. You'll have to take off the door panel trim and remove the bolts holding the motor/regulator in to re position the window.
good luck.
