Default power steering pipe leak

hi, any one have a quick fix for a power steering pipe the was rubbing and got a small hole in it? what a job to remove it!! would chemical metal work? i know its under a lot of pressure. don't have the money for a new pipe and i need it for monday. ta
p.s. its worth having a check for every one to make sure this doesn't happen to you. if you look at the two pipes comming from the steering box, they are close to the big fat mesh covered pipes going to the rad and mine was rubbing. the mesh wore a hole in the pipe. oh maybe on a left hand drive this will not be a problem!!!

I know the downtown fix is to slit a piece of hose the proper inside diameter slip over the tube (slit away from the hole) & a secure your band-aid with a couple of hose clamps. I have seen it done, no lie, try it the worst that can happen is it leaks again. The only real fix is a new hose.

thanks turbo, that's exactly what i did! after i gave the pipe a good clean and sanding, i filled it with chemical metal and built up a few layers. then i got an old bit of aluminium pipe and wraped that round the pipe over the filler and squashed it tight then filled that with chemical metal. put it all back together and hey presto no leaks so far. need to put a few more miles on it to be sure!!!! fingers crossed.

I suggest a new hose as soon as you can afford it. I just picked one up at an auto parts store for $18
