I have a 2001 cherokee and I bought it about a month ago. The day I got it the power steering pump went out and replaced it the day after that. Every since then it "whines" when I turn the wheel lefy and right and when at full lock to tthe left it sounds like it grinds hard and the rpms go down. This is all sitting still. Any help please!

ya i have the same problem.....you have air pockets inside the lines or actual pump...you need to bleed it, its very simple, its just like bleeding breaks.....i did lots of research and people have told me it was the steering column at the fire wall and boot area so i sprayed that down with some grease and it still happened....then i did a little more research and a few hours in found this method and it worked great....try it out!

there are several ways, you can unhook the lines from the steering system and drop a pan underneath to catch the fluid and turn left to right repeatedly as someone fills it with more fluid, or you can buy an actual machine to vacuum it out
