Hi there i was trying to install cup holder for jeep Cherokee xj 1990 but dont know how to remove the power mirror switch and install it on the cup holder inhereted the car from my grandpa its a really good jeep limited 1990 just trying to rebuild the car because its really old and i dont want to break anything and im just 18 son help would be really great thankyou
My recollection is that you can lift up the top of the arm rest, remove the screws from the front and back of the black tray below the arm rest, lift the tray out and get to the spring clips that hold the switch. If it still functions, I set the mirrors before I installed the cup holder and I believe I left the switch inside the console so it wouldn't get permanently lost.

Added Cup Holder to my MJ.
(e-brake under Dash on MJ)
Once you get the trim. the switch has these 4 tabs (2 on each side). You may have to depress them to get the switch out.
If your cupholder doesn't have the hole already, look inside. There will be the "cut" guide to make the hole.
Double check the travel on the parking brake before you screw everything down. The cupholder does restrict travel of the brake handle. It also covers part of the handle making it a bit harder to set and release. One good yank could rip the cupholder right off.

Yes the cupholder is factory and already has a Hole in it
You need to pull the shifter bezel upward (it just clips in place). There are several screws under the bezel. That should allow you to lift up the top tray on the center console (the one under the brake handle), just enough to reach the mirror switch.

İt Does not reach the cupholder do i have to buy a extender or something or am i doing something wrong
If you mean the "T" handle on the shifter, it just pulls off. You need to pull pretty hard. Set your parking brake and/or block the wheels, then shift into 1-2 so you can get a better angle at it from the rear seat. However, you may not need to do this now that you have the switch out.
As for the switch, disconnect the harness. Put the switch in the cup holder. Now with parking brake off, position cupholder on console, but do not fasten down. You should be able to reach enough through the brake handle gap or from underneath the cupholder to reattach the harness. You may need to lift/rotate the cup holder a bit to have enough access. Mine barely reaches.
Otherwise you may need to remove the console top trim and see it you can shift some of the harness to give you more slack.
