99 XJ

Yesterday, I noticed that any time I turned left or right, my radio would cut out and then turn back on. Also, if I left the radio playing with the car in park and opened the door, it would cut out momentarily.

Today, any time I go over a bump and/or turn right, the power door locks go crazy and keep going on/off/on/off a bunch of times. And, the radio turns on but no sound is coming out.

I'm guessing this is just a wiring issue, but I'm an electrical newb. Any thoughts on where to look? Maybe take off the door panels and check the wires?? ...PITA...

 

There is prolly a short in a wire, some place is what ot sounds like.

Have you modified anything in the electrical system? Added an aftermarket sound system?
The first place to look is always the last place you worked, lol.
Something sounds like it's loose.

 

Mabe ignition switch?

 

I replaced the window regulator in the drivers door about a month ago... maybe one of the wiring harnesses is shaking loose... I will check that. Also it seems like there may be some fraying of the wires going into the drivers door... is that difficult to replace??
