Default power door locks

Yea the power door locks just stopped working. When I press the button to either lock or unlock, it doesn't matter, it only makes a clicking sound from behind the glove box. I did check the fuse and it is good, I even changed it to be sure and it's definitely not the problem. Everything else works fine. I heard that it might be the main switch on the driver side, but I don't know.

I replaced them, It still sounds like its coming from in the glove box? Is there third relay I may have missed? and all four doors don't work with either front switch.

wow, I have been having this same issue, passenger door won't unlock with the keyless entry. I get a "errrghh" sound, but no unlock. Most others work fine.

What is the process to trouble shoot, and where are the relays to check?

I had the same thing. You can't repair them, just replace them. The noise is basically the little plastic gears runinng but not connecting to anything, thus your door not unlocking. I just took the door panels off and disconected them because I don't feel like spending a bunch of money on poor door locks right now.

To find out for sure, try this. Remove the door panel on the switch that is not working or making noise, whichever. Reach in and disconnect the pigtail from the power lock actuator. Then lock and unlock the doors with your Key FOB. No noise=bad actuator.

I don't have any FOB's for that XJ!@#$%?^. That is a good idea though. I'm going to go down to the pick and pull and see if I can just get some switchs.
