I got flamed on this Forum in the past for suggesting people with an original 0331 non-TUPY head switch over to Dexcool to avoid probable bearing damage when the head lets go.

You've got to thoroughly flush your system several times if changing over from green coolant to Dexcool. If you don't you'll end up with "snot" in your system because of a reaction between the two coolants.
I've noticed that a lot of suggestions that aren't considered necessities get flamed on here. I think it's a good idea.

Forget about oil pressure for a minute. If the problem is a worn bearing, the problem is a worn bearing not oil pressure. Like I've said time and time again, oil pressure is NOT a function. Indicated oil pressure is a RESULT of another problem and no amount of increased pressure will compensate or correct anything. The 4.0 will definitely survive with only one cam bearing wiped out. Is that good,of course not but the engine can still last for quite a awhile. The 2000-2001 4.0s have a nasty habit of the cam bearings walking out of its bore. The result is seeing gold specks in oil after a change and very low oil pressure at idle. Some of these engines have ran for years. Now saying that....a worn cam bearing is much less severe than a missing cam bearing.

Nobody ever said anything about low oil pressure being the problem itself. We're all well aware of why low oil pressure happens and what it means. Feel free to run your 4.0 while its missing a cam bearing, but I prefer my engines in running order. This is a pointless discussion. OP, change your oil and enjoy.

I agree but not everyone is in a position to pull the engine to replace a cam bearing. Discussion is not pointless....it was meant to ease fear for those unfortunate enough to have a cracked head. To the OP's question we are on point.

Worn lifters? Loose valve train? Cam walking around?

What is the indicated oil pressure at hot idle?

Just run it, if something is roasted, it will materialize.

Seems a little high for hot idle. You might have a restriction somewhere, causing high pressure and oil starvation up top.

Remove the oil cap and observe the flow under the valve cover when engine is running at normal temps.
