Is it possible to do this?
Hi,
Is it possible to clean the fuel filter? It's inside the fuel tank, so could it be opened and cleaned? or the fuel pump should be replaced?

I would say if your going to go through the hassle of removing the fuel pump assembly to clean the in-tank filter you might as well change the pump in the process.
Also what's the reason for asking?

Can't clean it. It's integrated with the regulator, part of the pump assembly. You CAN change the regulator/filter without changing the pump and all...but you still have to pull the tank to get at it and it isn't much cheaper than buying the whole assembly.

Well I've never seen that brand haha but I have read alot of mixed stuff about them. I personally throw one in every once in awhile just because it makes me feel like I take care of the Jeep. Never noticed anything (but how would you?)
well, I'm just asking, have never tried it ...

Fuel system cleaner isn't going to clean dust or dirt out of the filter. Might remove gum or varnish if you had that, but generally you won't unless it's sat with stale gas.
Dust/sand really shouldn't get into your fuel system as long as the fuel isn't dirty when you buy it, it's sealed pretty well.
