possible broken defroster flap fix
Hey guys i have a 97 jeep cherokee and the arm on the defroster door flap in the heater box is broke off so i am trying to find a way to fix it with out taking the box out. So i had an idea..if i were to take the steering column out, gauge cluster, and a few other dash items would i be able to get to the side of the box with a drill or at least a tool to put a screw through the arm to reconnect it with the flap? hopefully you guys understand what i am saying lol...Any ideas and/or thoughts are appreciated. ps can i get just the arm or is that part not around any more? i have looked and cant find it.

Here's a couple pics I got off a Jeep forum showing a broke defrost valve arm and access to the valve with the radio removed. I have no idea what else was removed to get as far as getting the pics. '97 XJ.
