Possible battery drainage?
Hey guys, just took my 87 Cherokee out wheeling yesterday hit quite a bit of mud and today as I was driving saw my battery was practically empty, then noticed lights getting dim and what not then slow start up's. just curious as to what the cause might be, my first guess and this may seem stupid, but was possible mud and water hitting the pos. and neg. stubs on the battery and drained it over night or in the process, id love to get some feed back, much appreciated

The most likely problem is that water/mud killed your alternator. The alts on XJs are mounted near the bottom of the engine so it's easy to submerge them.
