Posi-traction is the GM brand of limited slip rear ends. Jeep's is Trac-Loc.
when a limited slip rear begins to detect slippage at one rear, the clutches engage and apply SOME power to the opposite wheel.
A locker in its simplest form applies equal power to both wheels at all time.
The nice thing about an auto locker like a Ez-locker or Lock-Right is that they automatically unlock when cornering or turning.
A cable or air locker need to be switched off to do the same thing.
A spool, or a "lincoln" locker cannot be turned off so that you get REALLY bad street driving experience.
