Default Pops when turning

As I turn my steering wheel, there is a loud pop. I took it in and was told my steer box and pitman arm, I think, needed to be replaced. Any help and or repair suggestion would be helpful. Is it a hard fix? Should I take it in or do it myself? I am pretty savvy with my hands and do most of my own work anyways.

I know you said you were told it is the steering box and pitman arm, but another place where it pops when you turn is the trackbar at the frame end.

Checking the trackbar is easier as you need someone to turn the wheel while you look around under the Jeep for the pop.

Its part of the steering. Its got a bend and comes down from above the differential and connects just behind the tie bars and stabilizer.

Not part of the steering, its a suspension part. As you look at your Jeep facing the front its the diagonal link going from the driverside rail to the passenger side of your axle. Keeps the axle centered under your Jeep. Its not a straight link(atleast your's probably isn't).
