Popping when turning

Default Popping when turning

my freind was messing around on the snow and now has a popping noise coming from the front end. help?

Check the tie-rods, especially the driver side. The stock drag links aren't that strong and the threads wear allowing the tie rod threads to rub, creating a "popping" noise. It could also be a track bar bushing allowing some movement there.

i would suspect the front u joints first. maube the disconect if its an older model, mine does that...just turn the radio up lol.

Is the noise there all the time or only in 4 wheel Dr...Tj

^ yeah i diddnt even think about a steering related noise, ive grown so used to the drivetrain "popping" creaking and other noises i figured it was most likely due to spinning the tires at full lock. lol dohnuts in the snow? i could be completly wrong though

Most likely your track bar. Check for play in the bushings or heims or even worse cracks in the track bar mount.

Track Bar Mount was my culprit - The Nut right behind the Spring to be exact. Tighten that sucker down and and then try.
