pls help!! hit a bump and check engine came on!!
I would not replace stuff you already just replaced. Why not take it to the dealership and have them tell you what you need? Isn't that free? Then just do it yourself.

Finally fixed the problem!!! Runs like a champ!!! Back on the road after such a long time. Turned out to be the main computer ecu. thanks everyone for all your taking the time to help me. I really appreciate it a lot. have a great weekend.
So you never swapped your ECU with your neighbor?
Where did you buy the ECU from?
Cany anyone tell me how to find out the part number on my ECU?
I think I found it on the driver's front fender area, but it's just a grey cement block and I see no label on it anywhere. Do I need to unplug it to see a part number?

I have a '98 FSM, not for sale, but what do you need?

cobramarty, yes, i put my neighbors ecu on mine but it seemed as if it were dying down and i got worried that i may damage his so i quickly took it off. this time to test it i said well ill put mine on his jeep, his started running like mine immediately. should have done this before..lol.
bimmerjeeper, i bought it off ebay from a place called auto computer wholesalers. phone # is 917-450-3291. i got it for 140. wasnt expecting to pay so much but beats dealer prices..lol. they also buy old ones you may have a rebuild them too. shipping was super fast and they had very good feedback. also you get 6 months warranty and u get a 1 year if u send ur broken one back to them.
also, my ecu commuter had labels on it and the part number was two rows of numbers minus one letter. ill take a pic and post it.
