Yea. Agreed. if giggling doesn't change the readings, I might suspect something melted together. That would get pretty clear separating the wires.
If you have the time or inclination, doing the identical test on one or two others would probably be interesting,

Those readings are not right. You have just a few ohms to ground on wires that should be nowhere near ground, and a few ohms between the two injector wires (that should not be connected in any fashion with the injector and pcm unplugged).
It would explain the injector driver errors and running rich, if a stray ground in the harness is holding the injector open.
The best way to proceed would be to do what you are doing- open up the harness and take a look. I expect you'll find some repairs to make.
That is an excellent idea, to do the same measurements on a functioning injector for comparison. If the measurements come up the same, there is something wrong with the test itself.

havent messed with the jeep lately. been just sitting there with all new suspension and wheels and tires...sucks. i went out and started checking the harness the injector plugs are on and its stiff as a board. real hard from heat damage and possibly may have some melted wires inside. time to remove it and strip all back and do some checking. hope its the problem so i can get it back on the road and focus on other things to do to it...

Bummer. I'm just bumping your post really. Yea, actually finding the problem before changing parts is always nice. Changing the PCM (Power-train Control Module), might, or might not be the answer. (ECU is Renix). For what it's worth I'll re-read the thread later......Without knowing I think 97&98 is safe. Just might be 96 and 99 have a change....not sure. (some 99's might have the later, and some 96's might have the earlier)
I DID read something a while back about power transistors for the injectors going bad in an (Electronic Control Unit). Some guy actually pulled his a part and fixed it. (so they all fired)

just a thought.... could my fuel pump be bad??? what was weird was i decided to just take ALL the 703 injectors out and put all the stocks back in. after that i started it up and it ran like i had fixed the issue. i was stoked for about a minute then it started to slowly start running rough the right back to where it was. so what gets me is it ran perfect then slowly started running rough. damnit this sucks!!! i was thinking it may be the computer but now i doubting that just because it ran perfect for a minute then started acting up.

From post #20 --
"""""its running super rich. pulled out 3 spark plugs. 3 from the firewall forward and all of them are jet black soot. the other three are fine looking as if they are burning fuel properly. """""
Bank #2 is rich
a bad injector seldom makes rich.
The PCM is misinterpreting things, false code.
back to basics - what couses Bank 2 to go rich?
Vacuum leak, defective O2 sensor, even a bad or wrong plug.
Check for an exhaust leak.

No idea if the 98 could share that...maybe though.

hello yall. so just today i did some things. so programbo, yes i did clear the code in between changing things. i disconnected the battery everytime i worked on it or changed something. so today i changed all this new to eliminate sensors. i replaced the following BRAND NEW..... IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE SENSOR, CRANKSHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR, THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR, MAP SENSOR, UPSTREAM O2 SENSOR, DOWNSTREAM O2 SENSOR. still no change at all. now i guess i will change the spark plugs and wires brand new which i just replaced new a few months ago and only has about 20 miles on. ill do it again just to eliminate the problem.
