Jimmy, I'm guessing that someone "indexed" that Motorcraft distributor per a factory bulletin. See post 13 in my Tips link below.

Well, I actually got a new one put into it. It feels more powerful than when I first got it

Unfortunately, the bog out is still present at full throttle. I really have no idea what it could be. I haven't seen any posts on cherokeeforum directly addressing this issue.
