It's that 2 pin yellow connector that comes out of the same harness that connects to the Camshaft Position Sensor. Anyone know?

What colors are the wires? The 2001 FSM doesn't show any other connectors there besides the camshaft position and oil pressure sender on that branch.

Did you disconnect it and don't recall where it goes, or did you just discover it?

 

I thought later years had some sort of noise filter that attached to the block near the oil filter.

 

If installed and timed correctly, the cam syncronizer is supposed to be pointing basically straight back towards the firewall
