Problems: battery voltage all over the place/melted part PCM/misfires/cracked engine !??

Just a heads up...

I just replaced the pcm in my Excursion. I ended up buying one from O'reily's. I was going to use autoecms until I saw their amazon ratings and emailed them. Here is the email:

Hello,

My pcm (2000 ford Excursion 6.8L V10) is a YC3F-12A650-AMD but according to Ford PCM YC3F-12A650-AMD information, there is an updated version - YU7A-12A650-BYA.

Do I order the same number as mine or the "updated" version? Also, I noticed you sell on Amazon but did not see the core charge that is listed on your website. Is there a core charge if I buy through Amazon?

Thanks,
Robert

HELLO,

ORDER BASED OFF OF YOUR ORIGINAL NUMBER. WHEN YOU HAVE THE UNIT PROGAMMED IT WILL THEN BE UPDATED TO THE LATEST CALIBRATION.

AMAZON PRICING IS RETAIL. OVER THE PHONE OR OUR WEBSITE IS WHOLE SALE WHICH OFFERES A REFUNDABLE CORE CHARGE

THANK YOU

AUTOECMS.COM

Hello again,

Is the price better wholesale? I’m not sure what that means. The Amazon price is $395 +$15 for shipping. Your website shows $395 + $100 core + shipping. Do you have the capability to test the pcm’s at your shop? I couldn’t find any warranty info.

Thanks again,
Robert

***************

WHOLESALE OFFERS A $100 CORE REFUND WHICH MAKES THE TOTAL PRICE $100 LESS THAN RETAIL PRICING AFTER THE CORE IS RETURNED

THANK YOU

**************

When I tried to order through the website, the total was going to be $495 plus shipping. Is that a mistake? If not, then it would equal the $395 but without the core to deal with. Do you see where the confusion is? Amazon is 395 without core and the website is 495 with the core and 395 after a refund. Is it supposed to be $295 after the core refund?

***********

PRICING IS $495.00 + SHIPPING ON AMAZON

ON WWW.AUTOECMS.COM THEY ARE $395 + $100 CORE + SHIPPING

************

Well, the price on Amazon yesterday, and at the start of this email communication, was $395. I will assume you changed it in lieu of our conversation. That is an under handed thing to do and I now understand why your rating on Amazon is so low. I’m not sure if you find humor in conducting business this way, but you are wrong in my book. In addition, typing in all caps is annoying.

Robert

The voltage regulator is located in the PCM, since 1991, so it has proven to be a reliable system. You had a problem with the charging system, and failed to fix it in time, putting excessive loads on the regulator circuitry.
