Plastic side moldings removal?
The plastic moldings were gray so I painted them last year with that Forever black which DID NOT WORK it started to chip so I took it off and I was going to paint it with some Duralast Trim Paint but I thought why not just take them off. So does anyone know how to do that? Sorry for the long thread just wanted to tell a story.

Start off by spraying either WD-40 or Goof Off at the top of the trim. This will help to soften the glue. Then get some good fishing line and a couple of stout sticks. Wrap one end of the fishing line around one stick, and the other end of the line around the other stick. With a stick in each hand, work the fishing line in behind a piece of trim and work it back and forth in a sawing motion. This will pull the trim off without damaging the paint. To get the remainder of the glue off, use a plastic putty knife combined with more WD or Goof Off. You may have to make several passes to get all the glue. Be prepared for this to take several hours.
Good luck.
Good luck.

WD40 will help losen things up..then once removed you will have the chore of removing what's left of the glue/double sided tape. Not fun and most of it will not come off easily...Me I am just gonna get it off the best I can then sand the rest to prep for the bedliner spray.
Pull the molding by hand. Use a hair dryer to slightly warm the remaining tape. Use your finger tips to roll the remaining adhesive back onto itself and it will come off easily. Use bumper sticker remover to cleanup the residue.

Hit the local music shop and buy an unwound guitar string (usually a second or third string works fine) and do the fishing line trick. Then hit it up with an eraser wheel to get off the left over snot on there.

I'm telling ya, get one of these eraser wheels for your drill. Those things take off dealer emblem glue, 3M adhesive, tons of stuff. Goof Off works pretty good too. I use that at work constantly to get floor adhesive and tar off of things.
