i don't plan on jumping mine though either lol

Rusty's steering has changed a bit. THey have a little different design then the one pictured on their site. Also there tie rod ends are much beefier then the stock ones on my Jeep. I do imagine if you jump your jeep and put it through that kind of abuse you are liable of breaking something. sure maybe not right at the moment of impact but it could happen later seeing how you would be weakening the parts with the abuse. Plus if you are worried about the TRE's buy new ones from the local auto parts.

hmmmmmmmm...the beers seem to erase some momory but honestly it was a whole guess and check type of thing i put it one way and lost my steering to the right, put it another and lost the left,so i just kept inching it around until it lined up good enough
my steering to the left is still a little to lean

cool thanks. I will be doing this project along with my 3" RC AAL this saturday. Then I will have it all aligned professionally. I'm pretty stoked to get this thing in the air.

here's a pic of mine installed the way my buddy had it on his jeep. but i think it was installed wrong, so i changed it a bit.
then i sleeved it with some 1 9/16 .250 wall dom.

i wheel it hard, but i don't jump my junk.
if you jump it, anything will break.

caged- isnt the drag link end on the tie rod supposed to be in front of the tie rod instead of above?

when the drivers side droops that rod end must see some serious stress. i have never seen anyone run it like that

look closely at the first and second picture, now which way do you mean?

i had it the first way, and all it did was roll the drag link, giving me a false feel on the steering wheel.

so i changed it, now it feels right. and nope, no binding at full droop.

must not have much down travel. i was having binding issues with full heim steering at full pass drop and my drag link is longer due to the full widths. i would only assume this would be worse with tie rod ends like on your steering.

my setup does not hinder flex or droop one bit. i get plenty.

one of the best mods i've done, the stock steering setup is one of the worst designs out there.

i agree tho, rusty's uses low end tie rod ends, mine didn't bend, they just wore out quickly.
but at least he lists the proper part numbers on his sight for both the cheap replacements and the lifetime Moog replacements.
i replaced all mine with moog. those cost me as much as the whole setup did.
