Default PCM question

Does the 1996 jeep Cherokee sport have a separate PCM or is it built into the ecu? If it does have a PCM where is it located?

I always figured ECU was usually called a PCM here. Didn't think there was a difference.


ECU is Engine Control Unit, yes? What's PCM?

Engine Control Unit
same things, Chrysler also calls it the SBEC, or Single Board Engine Controller

Ok thanks. Looks like my ecu is messed up then. Looks like I'll be needing a new one of them

The ecu doesn't tell the efan to turn on when the temp goes over 220F. Ive gone through every possible problem (relays, fuses, new temp sensor, wiring). So it must be thy the computer doesn't send a signal to turn the efan on
