Default part time light stays on!

I have a 1989 jeep cherokee that I put in 4 wheel drive over the weekend and now the indicator light on the dash is staying lit after it is put into 2 wheel drive. Any ideas of why? my jeep has an automatic tranny, the transfer case is a 2 hi, 4hi, neutral, and then 4 lo. The front axle has the vaccum disco on it. When you drive it you can tell that it is in two wheel drive.
Any help on diagnosis would be great. Thanks everyone for the help!

I have the same problem with my 90 XJ. Although I think mine might actually be in part time. After awhile it will disengage. My mechanic said the vaccum hose might be corroded and it taking time to build up pressure. Anyone have a water problem in the back of their XJ?

by water problem do you mean rain water leaking into the rear of the cab?

Yes. Lots of water, and its not the floor boards or the rear hatch seal. Another thread said it could be coming from the roof rack?

Your Tcase switch may be bad.
DORMAN Part # 49314 ~$10
May be able to find it in the "HELP" section at the auto parts store.
