Had to fix a small vacuum leak today...After starting the vehicle back up.....The part below was tapping like crazy...Shut her down and looked for any hoses that might have come loose..nothing....After restart the tapping lessened then basically stopped...When the egine is running, I can still feel something inside the part in question "pulsing"...What is this part? and is it suppose to be "pulsing" inside?...Thanks

 

is the light for your hood flickering
that looks like the relay for the hood light
un plug it and see what happens

 

That is your evaporative purge solenoid, when operating it does make quite a loud tapping noise, this is normal.

 

The picture does make it seem like the hood light wire is going to it..But it isn't....thanks anyhow..


Thanks...I thought for sure my jeep was trying to deny me any small satisfaction of actually fixing something...
