Recently my driver's side parking light under the headlight has been acting up. It works in all settings but when the lights are turned on the main light doesn't cut off when the turn signal is engaged making it impossible to see that my turn signal is in fact working. I have already concluded that it is not the socket and I have cleaned out the connector behind the headlight which makes me think it could be the switch in the dash? Any other possibilities?

A rule of thumb, if the lights are acting goofy, suspect grounds. An easy check is to run a temporary wire from bat neg to that socket/bulb ground. See if that helps. With an old vacuum cleaner cord you can ground anywhere on the Jeep.

But aren't the grounds for the lights ran to the switch since it needs to turn the ground on and off for the blinker? Also a couple months back I did short out my switch before I put in a putco harness in so i'm wondering if that may have affected the switches functionality.

If contact in socket work properly it cant be wiring. When you tested you did get a flash from one and steady signal on other. Also does rear light work correctly ?

And let me tell you disconnecting that thing was not so easy. I cleaned it recently after reading your tips.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER.
I switched the bulbs and BAM now the Driver's side works. I didn't notice that there was a chunk missing out of the back and scrapes on the contacts. That fixes that issue real fast. Thanks
