I know some auto parts stores have factory colors in a rattle can. Instead of buying 3 and returning what I don't use, where can you look on the door jam to find the factory color code?

Thanks for the color code link...
also what is the advantage of rolling on the 50/50 mixture as opposed to spraying it?? I'd assume you're going to spray the clear so why not both??
going to watch the video..
ETA: watched the video and there's no way I'd ever do that... you can pick up single stage really reasonable spend probably less the $100.. I painted a vw bus with ppg omni single stage urethane with reducer for under $100, much more area to cover and bought a whole gallon...!!!!
simple steps to paint: (if you don't care about minor dents, dings, scratches etc so you wont be filling, and block sanding/ghosting... )
1)wet sand car with 400 grit wet/dry paper
2)wash car with scotch brite and dawn dishwashing detergent
3)mask everything
4)wet floor around vehicle
5)spray paint as per manufacturer specs
6)color sand and buff...
much easier than the rustoleum gig that's for sure

prolly better cover and eventual shine. way too involved for my tastes. But If I ever want to make something shine at least I have some idea of how to do it.

The total job took about a day. Lightly sanded the original paint. with wet dry paper. painted first coat. waited about 5 hrs and did a real quick wet sand and did second coat. Next morning did a light wet sand again and cleared it. Drove it that night. Easy touch up after a day of crawling. I carry a can of paint with me. All the bumppers and armor are the walmart sprayon bed liner. I also Carry a can. I didnt see the point of a $$$ paint job. I knew i would trash it. And i have seen Mayco paint jobs not look as good. Just remember to spray the jeep in the same direction. Dont switch from side to side and start up and down. It wont look right. You can tell when its dry.
