P1694 code
I have a 2000 cherokee 4.0 6cyl. I plugged in my reader and it read p1694. It will start up and idle fine but when it gets to about 1500 rpm it misfires and almost cuts off. Any ideas on what to do.

Higher rpm misfires combined with a p1694 can be the hallmarks of a failing CPS sensor. This is not definitive, but it has come a few times as a combination that was solved with a replaced CPS. A shop could us a scope to view the cam and cps sensors and see if they are normal, especially as the rpms increase. Mopar CPS is the preferred replacement. As higher RPM misfires are also a hallmark of aftermarket CPS replacements.
