ok soo my check engine light came on i have 2 codes one is a p0700(wich is the tranny death code) the other is p0705 wich is for thr prndl circuit input malfunction

would one code cause the other to come on?like the computer dosnt realize the tranny is in a sertain gear, because some time s the reverse lights dont come on




any and all input on my probleme would be very appreciated thank you

 

Do your reverse lights work? Reason I am asking is bc I got the same ce codes the other day. Did some research and found out I needed to clean my nss. Cleaned it. Cleared the code and it hasn't came back yet. Plus my reverse lights work all the time now.

Yeah I had this happen a few months ago after I am pretty sure I got my NSS switch covered in mud. takes about 2 hours to do the work. You dont have to replace it just clean it with brake cleaner and wipe off. Should work just fine. Clear the code and good to go.

 

ok so i cleaned my nss and the rev lights work now but the p0700 came back on so i found a tranny in CT for $300 so im gunna jump on that, its got around 47k from a jy but thank you for your help saved me a ton of time figuring stuff out

 

i would not go strait for a tranny change, What does that code mean? Also make sure you reset the PCM and then see if the code comes back.

 

I havnt changed the tranny yet but after driving it for a few weeks I have rev lights and the p0700 still comes on yes i cleared the codes same code comes back on and it started to slip a little now and i made shure there was enough tranny fluid but i got the new tranny and im just waiting for time to put it in p0700 is an internal fault in the trans I took it to the shop he agreed i needed a tranny so by next year almost every part in my jeep will be new or almost new lol
