P0700 and p0753
I have a 97 sport 4x4 4.0 and while driving on the freeway I noticed my check engine light came on. I got it scanned about 15 min after and it came up with those 2 codes. About 30 min after the lights coming on they turned off and haven't been on since, been 2 days. I don't notice any problems in the way it drives or shifts. I told my mechanic and he mentioned those codes deal with transmission. He told me not to do anything unless I notice anything in how it drives or if the lights come on again. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Leave it alone. The P0700 just means the TCM encountered a fault. It doesnt tell you anything other than that. Sometimes that code pops up by itself, which doesnt help. Sometimes another code will pop up with it, as yours did, which makes things a little easier to figure out. The P0753 is for the 3-4 shift solenoid. It may have had a momentary hiccup with the fluid or something with the voltage, i dont know. But if the light went out and it is driving and shifting ok, i wouldnt worry about it. Just keep tabs on it and note any strange behavior.
