Default P0455--Busted gas cap ?

On my 2000 XJ I put gas in a couple days ago and then the cel lit up. Took the code and its -large evap leak.

Now I figured let me check the cap first and it seems its broken or doesn't stay locked tight since once I turn it to lock and it clicks all I have to do is twist it back ever so gently and it comes off. It even feels a little loose U may say. Never had this happen with a gas cap before.

Is this a dealer Item or can I get a new cap anywhere.

I got a cap from NAPA but it does not have the lanyard that keeps the cap with the car

Get either a Stant or a dealer cap. The price differences isn't substantial.

There are a few people that have purchased cheap-charly caps and they immediately trigger an evap leak code.

Will do--I usually always go for the better fix if it won't break me. Thnx
