Default P0118 needs plug/harness for ECT

So, long time no talk, CF......
I've been busy...
lol

So here it is. The machine is throwing code now... P0118. ECT circuit high input. I recently replaced the water pump and thermostat, and had issues with this plug before, so I know its the harness. The contacts are all corroded. I cannot seem to find this harness. ANYWHERE. I donot like the idea of using salvage yard electrical stuff.. I've tried carquest, napa, advanced, and the dealer. I've also tried a few places online. Any one got any suggestions???

Getting 'em through the dealer is dicey at best. I have to go to junkyards to get 'em most of the time.

Your other option is to go to a good technical shop and getting them to re pin it. I have to do that a lot now also, but when the plastic is bad your screwed on options.

You need to go and buy a replacement connector kit, it comes with the plastic housing, new contact pins, and weather seal if it needs one.

Go to a true Auto Parts Supply house, one that does more than just retail out the front door to consumers. The place I go to has a parts counter out front and a full service machine shop in the back.

Almost all of those connectors on the harnesses can be purchased individually and you can rebuild the end of the cable.

I went to get some relay sockets and as the guy was paging through the catalog I got to see the selection of connectors and was happily suprised at what was available.

Some connectors, like the one going to the Heater Blower Selector switch might not be easily available .... but those under the hood should be.

I agree with not wanting to go to the JY for that kind of stuff.
