a couple of weeks ago i noticed this squealing coming from the power steering pump, i siphoned as much of the fluid out as i could and refilled it, it went away. today its back, loud and long, even more than before. what could it be???

 

Do you have a leak? If so then you will never be able to properly bleed the system hence a squeal. If that is not the problem then more than likely the bearings are going out and it is time to replace it.

I just replaced one from a JY for 30 bucks after numerous times trying to fix it. Forget the rebuild kits they are not worth it.

 

there is not a leak, bearings?is that hard. i got pulled over and got a warning from some da cop who said it was disturbing the peace so i got to get it fixed asap. would doing the same thing help for a day or two?

 

Just change the pump out it is pretty simple task.

 

ive been looking for a how-to but there are none . anybody got a write up on how its done??
