Default Oversize Oil Filter

Its leaking the one for the Ford 5.0. I have a 94 and i compared the regular one to the 5.0 one and they are both the same.

I think I fixed it. the seal had moved over the lip on the filter. Sorry.

I didn't know you could use a over sized oil filter, and is there any advantage to do so?

I run a fram ph8a or a ford fl1a. You can look up one for a 1990 302, 5.0 mustang or probably a million other cars with a small block ford or ford straight 6.

napa filter #1515 it allow's you to have a little bit more oil in your engine.

PH8a from autozone. A lot of Ford vehicles from the 80s and early 90s had a 5.0 liter engine that these filters worked with. It is overkill but if it doesnt cost anymore why not.

Oh and just FYI renix era XJs need to have a conversion to take it but it works fine in all 4.0 HOs.

i currently am using the " motorcraft fl-1a " on my 1999 cherokee 4.0l works great never had any problems.
