So heat from the cataclysmic converter "backs up" in to the cooling system?

Makes almost as much sense as the rest of this thread.

If the OP cat was plugged he would know it.. The jeep would run rough and would not have enough power to do anything. It would be super sluggish and just plain old run like crap.. Ive seen plugged up cats on a jeep and the front down pipe would get red hot just before the cat.. so Im pretty sure its not a cat. He has not mention his jeep running really bad or hot pipe in front of the cat.

Not allowing the exhaust gases to release that caused the engine to overheat.. in that case there no cooling system neither fans neither nithing that would reduce temperature. Anyway that is my opinion.
That's fine you are certainly entitled to it.

If you are going to "cite" physics at least state a mathematical proof or let's not even bother going there.
Now,
where does this "freaking high temperature" come from? Here's the top 4 for you to ponder.
#1. Lean condition.
#2. Cracked cylinder head and or block.
#3. Restricted or defective cooling system components.
#4. Previous use of a stop leak or sealer in the cooling system preventing circulation.

Now on to the converter...
It's simple enough to test and if defective, replace.
Simply chopping off parts and throwing them in the trash is hardly sound diagnosis and gets really freaking expensive because to problem still exists.

I eagerly await your retort.

Cooling systems are not complex beasts at all... if your still overheating after doing that work to it then it would lead to a gasket failure or cracked block/head.

Radiator
Water pump
Over flow bottle
Hoses
Thermostat
Heater core
Head Gasket
Radiator cap
