Default Overhead console install Qs

I have a 2000 XJ Sport that doesnt have a overhead console but would like to install one. I have a couple Questions
1. Is the my XJ prewired for the console?
2. Are the mounts in the ceiling above the headliner?
3. Do I have to cut my head liner?
Thanks in advance.

#2. NO The overhead console requires a mount that was only installed on rigs that had the console installed at the factory or at the stealership. The rear bracket is an obsolete part so you'll have to get on from your favorite junkyard if it wasn't provided with the console.

Is all of the same true on 96 and prior? Especially the part about being pre-wired...I do have PW, PL and keyless entry if that matters.

Should screw right in if memory serves from when I did mine. If not, it wasn't hard at all to make new holes.
