Default overdrive dont work?

my 2000 Cherokee sport don't kick into overdrive, it just stays in 3rd and its killing my gas mpg is there a shift solenoid or something that's bad or is my tranny junk? its an np203, someone please help!!!!!

Could be a solenoid, or a bad TPS. Is the CEL on?

The computer looks at throttle position, vehicle speed, engine speed, and coolant temperature to determine if the transmission should be in overdrive.
