Over head counsel, anyone ever tried to put one from a ZJ into a XJ? I miss having the compass and temp in the rig like my ZJ(parting out) did. And was wondering what would be involved in installing the 94ZJ over head counsel into my '89 XJ..

ZJ one will work, youll only get the compass and temp reading. and the roof lines are different so they wont match up perfect

Anyone have any idea on figuring out the wiring?

The compass and the temp are the only 2 things I want from it..

Here's a link to a very detailed writeup on Naxja. Keep us posted. I have a ZJ console, waiting to install it for warmer weather.

Thanks I'll be checking that out...

The hard part is my XJ is a '89 and the ZJ I'm parting out is a '94..

are our XJ's (97 and newer) prewired for this? I see the temp sensor under the bumper...but wondering if all I need is to hit the JY and grab a console and harness?

From what I read on the above link seems that yes the 97 and newer ones are wired for it. But you may want to get a service manual to find where all the wires run to make sure..

So help me understand....the wiring is already above the head liner? or just pre-wired at the kick panel?

Thanks for clearing it up...in advance.

Anybody installed a console into their XJ? I just bought one from 98 JeepJeep. I need my headliner redone, so I would like to do the headliner and have the overhead console installed at the same time. Do you think a shop would know how to install the console?

Anybody have a writeup for the actual install?
