Default Opinions wanted on adjustable LCA orientation

I am about to fit adjustable control arms to replace the previous ones that had worn bushes

These are the same type

here is a picture of the way they were fitted

when i posted it before someone piped up and said they were back to front, then someone else said upside down

all comments welcome, before I install them, the way pictured is the way Iron Rock show theirs. These are cheap, only adjustable when not fitted to vehicle, two threaded ends would be way superior

However, when I took the adjustables out, and fitted originals with poly bushes, it does alter my castor enough to notice

My lift is 2-3 inches. It probably does not matter which way they are fitted, but maybe it does, something caused premature wear in the poly bushes

It seems the newer versions have uprated poly bushes

I despise worn out bushes.

Orientation looks fine and after replacing them to see a noticable difference in angle is almost to be expected when going from worn out to brand new

Mine are very similar...rustys i think. I ran mine opposite, only because the nut and threads are more protected if on the back side. Sadly you can't have threads on both sides because one would have to be reversed ( more expensive) and you cannot rotate an angled shaft. If you are not running over rocks then it probably doesn't matter which way your arm is mounted

The failure point was the junction of the bush to inner sleeve (chewed)

There is no point to inject lube via a Zerk. I think I will drill and tap them to accept zerks

Apart from lack of lubrication, I am also puzzled by the mode of failure

afaic, the inner sleeve and bush should be clamped as a unit in such a bush, by the bolt and sheet metal, meaning the outer surface of the bush pivots within the LCA end itself

It could also be cheap low quality poly

Guess I will find out

Zerk fittings will not fix the issue because most / all greases you can get in a tube destroy the poly bushings. Even some very expensive synthetic ones. How do I know? Energy Suspension makes this great poly lube that comes in an 8 to 10 oz plastic can. It is a clear, very sticky, waterproof vaseline like stuff. Holds up well and i guess you could fill an empty tube with it on one of those small grease guns. I stated opposite earlier, that means same orientation but the nut at the back end. I think you would hit things if you flipped them "upside-down"

The bend is oriented properly in your photo. I could see somebody being confused because having the bend up would net greater clearance, but the arm is bent to clear the shock mount on the axle at full droop.

I would probably put the adjustable end on the body side for better protection of the threads/jam nut, but it functionally shouldn't make a difference if both ends are bushings. If the adjustable end is a flex joint, put it at the body side.
