This may seem like a dumbass question but gotta ask since I don’t inow. I’m installing new carpet and door seals. Lol I have no clue which to do first! I took out the old carpet and removed the seals like a year and a half ago but don’t remember which I did first. Doin a total restoration rebuild upgrade. Should we do the door seals or lay the carpet then the seals? Does it matter? Any help and advice would rock. I did sound deadener and foam pads to the floor pans. The carpet is acc brand? It’s molded. Also to glue or not? I’ve laid carpet in houses but never in a car.

 

Seals first. Then the carpet. Then you can put all the trim pieces back in. The carpet may need some trimming. If it fits well, I see no need to glue it down. Does the carpet have the standard backing?

Post back how the carpet fits. I'm considering getting the same for my '88.

 

Generally, you want to get the carpet out of the box as quickly as possible so it doesn't retain any creases from shipping...Pull it out and let it lay until you're ready for it if you have the room...
