Guess it depends on who you talk to. IIRC dome like Bosch for the renix and NTK for the later...unclear there. Anyway I went with NTK....I haven't re checked it since I put it in. Napa here gets parts overnight, so you could have it Tuesday.
If you can find A Snap on MT2500 scanner it is a great investment. Mine has a "Fast Track" trouble shooter cartridge that tells you how to test components and what the readings should be. I could have thrown parts at my jeep for more money than the scanner cost me. now I understand what my engine is doing and why it's doing it.

By the way Flintstone, I'm running those 703's I got from you and have since order some of the Volvo's to try out. Should have them next week.

Oh ! I didn't make the connection! Well, I'm considering the 746's as "experimintal" for now, but welcome aboard, we shall see. But yea they seem really sweet so far, runs like warm butter. Nothing real on mileage, except they don't really suck...I think.

(he's mentioning my two extra 703's, because I found 8).

On the 15 mile drive home from work it was in open loop at start up and within a couple of minutes was in closed loop the rest of the way home and the O2 sensor was rapidly changing volts high and low like it should. When I got home and let it idle for a couple of minutes it went into open loop and the O2 stayed in the 3 volt range and read lean. I revved it up to 2500 rpm and it went to closed loop and read rich for a little bit and then back to open loop lean.

Is this normal or is the heater in the O2 sensor not work correctly and the hot exhaust from cruising 55 mph is heating up the O2 sensor to make it go into closed loop?

Real good possibility. I think you're on to something.

Yes, but you have to have the jeep -1 adapter which came with most of the scanners, if not you can find the adapter on Ebay for a cheap price if you wait for on to come up. If all you want to do with the scanner is to use it on your jeep only than you can find a scanner that has old cartridges that only cover up till 1991 or so and they sell a little cheaper than say a scanner that covers up to mid 2000.

If you look on Craigslist in your surrounding area sometimes they come up. Some area's of the US the MT2500 sells for big money and some area's they sell for a low price.

Much thanks. Mostly academic, I won't be buying anything soon. Yea, darn craigs list is 2 hrs in three directions from here! (I'm in the middle of three)

The 02 heater relay location is in my signature btw...(the front of the four)
